S&F Phoenix Consulting

We design, build and manage business technology.

S&F Phoenix Consulting has served businesses in New York and several other states since 2000. Networks and infrastructure, telephony, video surveillance, server and desktop management, systems integration and custom business applications — and artificial intelligence since 2020.

The foundation

Networks and connectivity

Low-voltage cabling, switching and wireless. Gateways and firewalls. The connection between sites, and the rules about what crosses it.

We specified most of it, we installed it, and we are still the number that gets called when it stops. Some of these networks we have run for twenty years.

Voice and telephony

Business phone systems, from the handsets to the call routing — the part of the stack most firms inherit and nobody wants to touch.

Two decades of it is why an AI system that answers the phone is not, for us, a novelty.

Servers and desktops

Server and desktop management, patching, monitoring and backup, for the machines a business cannot work without.

Unglamorous, continuous, and the reason a client of twenty years is still a client.

Video surveillance

Camera placement, recording and retention, and the storage and network capacity to carry it.

Usually specified alongside the cabling, because the same network has to carry the footage. How far back you need to be able to look is a business decision before it is a technical one, and it is what determines the storage.

Software development

Custom business applications, browser-based, built when the packaged option would mean rebuilding a process that already works.

Most businesses should buy rather than build. That case is rarer than software vendors suggest and more common than IT departments admit, and telling the two apart is most of the job.

Business systems and integration

Specifying, installing and configuring the applications a business runs on, and connecting them to one another so the same information does not have to be entered twice.

This is the larger share of our software work. Most firms need their existing systems installed properly and talking to each other far more often than they need something written from scratch.

Our approach

Technology projects usually fail in the environment rather than in the design. Integrations stall on systems nobody holds current credentials for, on network and firewall restrictions, or on equipment that no longer matches what the plan assumed. These constraints rarely surface until implementation is already under way.

We manage the infrastructure, and we install, integrate and where necessary build the systems that run on it. Because the same team is responsible for both, we assess each project against the environment as it actually is, before the work is committed. Where something will not work as proposed, we say so at the outset and set out what would have to change. Clients get a realistic assessment early rather than a revised scope and budget halfway through.

The record

20+ years

our longest continuous client relationship

2000

the year we started, and we have run continuously since

4 hours

our response commitment on a client support request, within business hours

Dozens of networks and sites have been built and maintained over that time. What our clients have in common is that their systems hold records they cannot afford to lose or leak. The practice started in New York and now reaches several states; remote support made the distance stop mattering.

Artificial intelligence

We have been building AI systems since 2020. One AI product sold to everybody serves nobody, so the work now runs as separate practices, each built for a market we understand. Two are in build; more will follow.

Advisory and delivery

For family enterprises, regional banks and property groups

The firms with real AI capability rarely understand how a family-owned group actually decides anything. The firms that do understand it subcontract the technical work to someone else. This practice sits in that gap: the advice and the delivery come from the same team.

It is built as a ladder, so a client can stop at any rung. A two-to-four week assessment produces a readiness scorecard, an opportunity map, the blockers standing in the way, and one or two quick wins worth doing regardless. From there: an eighteen-month roadmap, a time-boxed pilot on real data, full implementation, or an ongoing advisory retainer.

If the honest finding is that the group is not ready, the report says so. That is a result, not a failed engagement.

Front-office AI · United States

For local service businesses

A missed call is rarely a message left. It is a customer calling the next company on the list. This is an AI employee for the front office, and it installs on the line the business already has.

The owner dials *71 to forward calls that go unanswered. Nothing else changes — no app, no new number, no handset to learn. An unanswered call triggers a conversational text within thirty seconds, which qualifies the caller and books straight into the calendar. A gas smell or a flood is escalated to the owner's mobile immediately rather than queued behind a booking.

Built for the trades where one missed call is a job lost to whoever picks up next: HVAC, plumbing, roofing, emergency water damage.

Both will launch soon. Please check back. Inquiries about either can be submitted through the form below.

Contact

Whether it is a network that needs taking over, an application that does not exist yet, or a question about where AI actually fits — the first step is a conversation, not a proposal.

We use what you send only to reply to you. It is not shared with anyone and not used for marketing.

Inquiries are answered within one business day. You will receive a copy of your message by email for your records.
